“Talumpati” Defined
Ang talumpati ay isang uri ng komunikasyong pampubliko kung saan ang isang tao ay umaakyat sa entablado para magsalita ukol sa kanyang mga opinyon at ideya. Simply put, it is an oration, a form in which thought and opinion is expressed through public speech.
These are usually used for political or social campaigns where the speaker tries to convince the audience to buy what he’s saying. Popular na paraan ang talumpati para mangatuwiran, maghikayat o magbigay impormasyon ukol sa isang paniniwala.
May dalawang uri ng talumpati: ang talumpating may paghahanda (done with preparation) at ang talumpating walang paghahanda or, in English, impromptu. Debating is a form of talumpati where the speaker is not prepared and has to rely on his knowledge and skill to deliver his particular opinion.
Mga Bahagi ng Talumpati
A talumpati consists of three parts: the beginning (panimula), body (katawan) and konklusyon (conclusion). Because the main aim of a talumpati is to engage or win over the listener to the speaker’s side, it is important that it is well-strategized.
The panimula should be attention-grabbing. Plus, it should inform the audience at once what the speech is about. Next, the body of the oration should be divided into different parts. Each part should support the claim that you’re making in a clear, well-thought of way. Lastly, the conclusion ends the oration. Thus, it is important that you make a strong ending to reel in your audience in.
Paraan ng Pagtatalumpati
There are three ways in which you can deliver an oration. The first is by reading it (binasa), the second is by memorizing it (sinaulo) and the third is by using an outline (binalangkas).
